DCS is excited to announce the successful passing of Bonds for Springfield School District RE-4 and Strasburg School District 31J! The passing of these bond measures will provide both districts the necessary matching funds needed for their Colorado Department of Education BEST Grant programs.
The community of Springfield successfully passed Ballot Issue 4A on Tuesday evening. After a highly competitive grant application process Springfield school district received a $34M from the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) BEST program and with the success of 4A has successfully met the required 15% match. This funding is for the consolidation of the Springfield PK-12 Campus into 1 facility. DCS played an integral role in the BEST Grant application process and subsequent bond campaign. We are excited at the opportunity to work as the Owner's Representative for Springfield School District, alongside the project architect TreanorHL, as the design process begins!
After a rigorous application process, Strasburg School District received $3.6M in funding from the CDE BEST program in the 2020 funding cycle. This Tuesday evening, the required $6.3M in matching funds were secured through the successful passing of Ballot Issue 5B. These funds will be used towards upgrades to aging mechanical, fire alarm and public address systems in the district facilities and will also contribute to the construction of six additional elementary school classrooms to address community growth and classroom overcrowding. DCS assisted Strasburg School District in the successful BEST Grant Application Process.
Stay tuned for more updates on these exciting projects and congratulations again to the communities of Springfield and Strasburg!
